Each September, the Duke-Sloan Graduate Boot Camp brings to Duke 15 talented undergraduates in chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, and statistical science (the Pratt School of Engineering holds a separate camp at the same time for students interested in engineering graduate programs). The Boot Camp will encourage participants to think critically about their research interests and skills, provide practical strategies for the graduate admissions process, and introduce participants to Duke’s Sloan departments.
The 2018 Boot Camp will be held Friday, September 14. Participants will arrive on Thursday, September 13 and depart on the morning of Saturday, September 15. Workshop expenses, including travel expenses, lodging, and meals, will be paid for by The Graduate School and the Duke University Center for Exemplary Mentoring.
The application deadline is July 24, and selected students will be notified by August 17.
